Former Arsenal star to meet with manager over his future.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Chelsea are the latest club to be credited with an interest in former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, who is set to hold talks with Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova over his future, according to the Daily Mail.

The 26-year-old has had to settle for something of a bit-part role at the Nou Camp this season, and has not managed to find his best form since returning to his boyhood club from Arsenal in 2011.

It is thought that the Gunners may look to lure him back to the Premier League this summer, but Manchester United, Manchester City, and now Chelsea are all hoping to land him as well.

Arsenal have first refusal on the Spaniard as part of their deal to sell him to Barcelona, but Fabregas may favour a move to one of the other teams due to the Gunners’ lack of silverware since 2005.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of other midfielders in this transfer window, and a playmaker of Fabregas’ quality seems to be on the agenda, with Real Madrid’s Luka Modric also said to be a target.

Barcelona will be hoping to keep Fabregas at the Nou Camp after working so hard to sign him in the first place, and it would be seen as hugely controversial if the former Arsenal star joined one of their Premier League rivals.
