Stamford Bridge return a matter of days away.
Outgoing Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he will be named Chelsea manager by the end of the week according to the London Evening Standard.
The 50 year old Portuguese boss has long been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge and following the announcement last month of his impending Bernabeu exit speculation has been rife about when, rather than ‘if’, he would make his emotional return to West London.
Discussing the subject in a Spanish interview Mourinho stated;
“I’m going to London on Monday and at the end of the week I will be the manager of Chelsea,” he said. “I feel the people there love me and in life you have to look for that.
“Life is beautiful and short and you must look for what you think is best for you.”
Mourinho has endured a fiery three year spell in charge of Spanish giants Real Madrid and even after securing the La Liga crown last term the ‘Special One’ still had a number of run-ins with his senior players and a large portion of the club’s support.
Having failed to retain the domestic title and losing the Copa del Rey final to city rivals Atletico Madrid it was clear that Mourinho would be set to leave this summer and a move back to Chelsea does now seem just days away.
