Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentis has said that he will not let Edison Cavani leave for less than £54 million according to Goal.com.

The striker has a £53.8 million buy out clause in his contract and clubs will have to activate that clause in order to sign the Uruguay International.

Cavani is one of this summers top transfer targets, with Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid said to be interested.

Cavani is said to be one of City’s main targets and could be preparing a bid for him involving a swap deal with Edin Dzeko.

The striker finished as the top goalscorer in Serie A last season and helped Napoli to finish in 2nd place, qualifying for the Champions League in the process.

Napoli’s new manager Rafa Benitez will hope that the 26 year old can stay at Napoli and push the club towards winning Serie A.

Benitez took over at Napoli after the clubs previous manager, Walter Maazzari, went to become Inter Milan’s new manager.

The former Chelsea boss has been linked with several of his former players.

The Spaniard is known to want to add defenders to his squad and is reportedly interested in David Luiz and Martin Skrtel.
