Jose Mourinho has hit back at claims that he damaged Spanish football during his time at Real Madrid according to Sky Sports.

The claims were made over the weekend by Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta and Mourinho sort to hit back at those claims during the press conference to confirm him as Chelsea manager.

“I damaged Spanish football by being the manager that broke Barcelona dominance,” the Portugese coach said.

Mourinho was unveiled as Chelsea manager for a second time this afternoon and stated that he was “the happy one” by being back at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese coach had unprecedented success during his last spell at Chelsea, winning the Premier League twice in a row.

Mourinho then had a  two year spell at Inter Milan where he won Serie A and the Champions League before moving to Real Madrid.

He spent three years at Real Madrid, winning La Liga during his second season and forming a fractious rivalry with the then dominant Barcelona.

The Catalan club have been critical of Mourinho’s conduct many times before and will surely be happy to see the back of the Portuguese manager.

Ironically, Mourinho spent time as a coach at Barcelona under Sir Bobby Robson during the late 1990’s.
