French duo join chase for Lazio midfielder.
Big-spending French pair PSG and Monaco will compete with Manchester City for the signing of Lazio star Hernanes, according to Italian news source Il Tempo.
The 28-year-old scored 14 goals from midfield for Lazio this season, and could be available for around £21million after his fine form in Serie A.
Manchester City were said to be frontrunners for his signature, but their signing of his fellow Brazilian Fernandinho means their interest may have cooled, leading PSG and Monaco to try their luck with an offer.
The Brazilian has a tremendous long range shot and would be an excellent addition to any of these teams, after establishing himself as one of the best midfield playmakers in Italy.
PSG have made some high-profile signings from Serie A in recent years, with the big-money transfers of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva from AC Milan, as well as Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli.
Monaco have also shown great ambition in the transfer market this summer, and have brought in big names such as Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez with the backing of their wealthy Russian owner.
