Real Madrid President Florentino Perez will oversee the club’s bid for Gareth Bale.
Real Madrid’s bid for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale will be overseen by the clubs president, Florentino Perez, personally according to Marca.
The Spanish giants have made no secret of their desire to sign Bale this summer and he is seen as their number one transfer target.
For this reason, the bid will be overseen by Perez personally, who has handled the transfers of other “Galacticos” like Cristano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane.
Perez has openly stated his interest in Bale saying “He’s one of the best players in Europe and Real Madrid is always interested in the best”.
However, signing Bale will not come cheap and the club may have to pay a world record transfer fee for the winger although that won’t be hard for Perez who has broken the world record 4 times during his two spells as Madrid president.
The Spanish giants are reportedly set to offer Tottenham £85 million for the Welshman, an offer that would be very hard to refuse.
Real Madrid could have competition for the signature of Bale with Manchester United monitoring the situation and Paris St Germain set to enter the race to sign the player.
Bale had a superb season for Spurs, scoring 23 goals as the club narrowly missed out on a spot in next seasons Champions League.
