Having missed out on an all important top four finish it appears that Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is to set about conducting a major summer clear-out, with ten players said to be set for a White Hart Lane exit according to the Metro.

The biggest names on the list of outgoing talents come in the form of battling midfielder Scott Parker and strikers Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Abebayor.

No doubt Villas-Boas is keen to bring in quality additions as he sets about mounting another push for a Champions League berth whilst simultaneously seeking to prove to prized asset Gareth Bale that the club has the ambition to better itself in 2013/14.

Veteran England man Parker had an up and down season and at 32 is perhaps a player Villas-Boas feels he can afford to sell. Emmanuel Adebayor proved a massive disappointment following his permanent move to the North London club but seems set to leave this summer. Jermain Defoe started last season well but went off the boil in a big way.

Damiao Tottenham Bid

Villas-Boas decision to sell both strikers comes as the Portuguese boss continues to pursue long term Tottenham target Leandro Damiao, with the young manager very keen to bring the Brazilian in to boost his attack.

The Spurs boss is also keen on signing QPR forward Loic Remy, who is likely to leave the relegated side as they look to trim their massive wage bill, the French international is available for a modest sum due to terms of a release clause that came into effect when his Loftus Road side went down to the Championship.

Andre Villas-Boas is also continuing to track his former FC Porto charge Fredy Guarian, who is said to be likely to leave Inter Milan but only for the right price.

Tottenham have already released out of contract trio William Gallas, David Bentley and John Bostock but will also seek to sell the aforementioned Defoe, Adebayor and Parker as well as Tom Huddlestone, Iago Falque, Andros Townsend, Beniot Assou-Ekotto, Bongani Khumalo, Heurelho Gomes and Brad Friedel
