West Ham Plot Surprise Move to Sign Chelsea Striker Demba Ba

The club are also hoping to sign Wilfred Zaha on a season long loan.

West Ham are looking to bolster their striking options this summer by signing Chelsea’s Demba Ba and Manchester United’s Wilfred Zaha on a season long loan according to the Times.

Ba only signed for the club in January, making the move from Newcastle, but Chelsea are set to sign at least two highly rated strikers this summer and that means that Ba’s stay at the club could be over.

Chelsea have been linked with moves for Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Zenit St Petersburg’s Hulk meaning that Ba will likely slide down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge despite an impressive last 5 months of the season.

West Ham hope to lure Ba to Upton Park with the promise of first team football, something he is unlikely to get at Chelsea.

The Hammers are currently trying to make Andy Carroll’s loan move from Liverpool permanent and although a £15 million fee has been agreed between the two clubs, Carroll isn’t interested in moving to Upton Park on a permanent basis meaning that West Ham are having to look for other options.

One of those options is Ba, with Zaha coming in on a season long loan to add pace and trickery to the Hammers first team.
