Having brought in Kolo Toure on a free transfer and completed the signing of Spanish striker Iago Aspas and with a number of other players said to be on their way to Anfield Brendan Rodgers is looking to balance the Liverpool books by cashing in on a quartet of first team stars.

The Daily Telegraph claim that the Northern Irishman is ready to listen to offers for young midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, who is said to be of interest to Norwich City.

Carroll Tottenham

Rodgers is also hopeful that he can orchestrate a permanent sale of England forward Andy Carroll, with a £15m deal with West Ham tentatively agreed, however the 24 year old is yet to agree on a move to join the East London side on a permanent basis.

Stewart Downing is another who Rodgers will hope to offload this summer though one wonders just how much Liverpool hope to garner from the sale of a player who cost the club a fee of around £20m and may struggle to fetch half that fee this summer.

Skrtel Van PErsie

Slovakian centre-back Martin Skrtel seems certain to leave having been frozen out of first team affairs for the second half of last term, Rafa Benitez is said to be keen on bringing the no nonsense defender to Napoli in a bit to reunite with his former Liverpool charge.
