Cavani’s father insists that the striker wants to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Despite huge interest from Premier League clubs, Edison Cavani has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid according to the players father.
Goal.com reports that the striker has his heart set on a move to the Spanish capital despite reports suggesting he would welcome a move to the Premier League.
The striker recently admitted that he would like the opportunity to work with new Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, with the club thought to be offering Edin Dzeko plus cash for the striker.
However, the players father has said that their is only one club the Uruguay international wants to play for.
“Cavani’s intention is to play for Madrid,” Luis Cavani.
“He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through. He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli”.
Luis Cavani also revealed that the player had been in contact with Real Madrid about moving to the club.
This is likely to disappoint Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester City, who have made the striker their top transfer target this summer.
Cavani’s current side, Napoli, have said that any club wishing to sign the striker will have to pay £53 million, activating the players release clause in his contract.
