Italian starlet commits to Parisian giants.
PSG midfielder Marco Verratti has eased fans concerns over his future after stating that he has no intention of following coach Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid this summer, Sky Sports reports.
Ancelotti has been heavily linked with a switch to the Spanish capital to replace Jose Mourinho and rumours have been flying over which players will be joining him in La Liga. Verratti has been one of those names expected to head for the exit after catching the eye with a series of matured and assured displays, but the player insists that his future remains at the Parc des Princes.
“I saw that Ancelotti was perhaps going to Real. If this is the case, I’m happy for him because this is a very big club,” Verratti said..
“But my future is not tied to that of the coach.
“I am very happy in Paris and I want to stay at PSG.”
However, his agent, Donato di Campli, is pleased that clubs of Madrid’s stature are linked with his client.
“Verratti is no longer the player who arrived from Pescara,” Di Campli told Sport Mediaset.
“It is pleasing to know that Marco is being followed by great clubs such as Real.”
