Ligue 1 side Montpellier could offer Djibril Cisse a road out of his QPR hell according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
The former Liverpool forward is set to return to Loftus Road this summer after moving to Qatari side Al Gharafa during last January’s transfer window.
The player has been told by QPR boss Harry Redknapp that he is surplus to requirements and is unlikely to feature for the club again in the near future.
At the same time, the club are keen to cut costs following their relegation from the Premier League and are keen to move Cisse on, as he is one of the club’s higher earners.
That could pave the way for a return to his homeland with French side Montpellier thought to be showing an interest in his signature.
Club President Jean Fernandez has admitted being keen on the player’s services but insisted that the club had alternative options in the pipeline.
Fernandez insisted he was in no rush as the French season does not begin this year until September.
That may not suit Redknapp, who is thought to be keen to overhaul his squad for the Championship before the season kicks off in the beginning of August.
