Rio Ferdinand Gives New Man United Boss David Moyes His Full Backing

Centre-back believes Moyes to be a winner.

Rio Ferdinand has expressed public support for new Manchester United manager David Moyes according to Goal.com.

The former England international has expressed his belief that Moyes has what it takes to emulate his predecessor, Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferdinand stated that he believed Moyes would be bring stability and longevity to the club in the same manner Ferguson did during his 26 year spell in charge at Old Trafford.

Ferdinand claims that he has seen a number of similarities between Moyes and Fergie, and believes the club will continue to go from strength to strength as a result.

All eyes will be on Moyes next season as people weigh up whether United will continue to remain such a dominant force in English football.

United’s second fixture of the season will see them line up against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea in what could be an early indicator of how the two clubs are shaping up.

Mourinho was known to be close to Sir Alex Ferguson and was reportedly part of a close inner circle who knew of the Scotsman’s impending retirement months in advance.

He was considered by many to be a candidate to take over from Ferguson but has since insisted that his heart was always at Stamford Bridge.
