Wimbledon continues at SW19 and so far its been a story or shocks, injuries and upsets, as once again lower ranked players make a mockery of the seedings by knocking out their more illustrious opponents.

We’ve already seen Rafael Nadal disposed of in the first round by Steve Darcis, a player ranked 135 in the world, while the legend that is Roger Federer was outed in straight sets by the lesser known Ukranian Sergiy Stakhovsky, the 116 ranked player dispatching the seven time Wimbledon winner in three sets, and sending shockwaves throughout the tournament.

Andy Murray, its seems is once again looking in strong form as he moves through the opening rounds with relative ease, while all eyes will be be on the now tournament favourite Novak Djokovic, who can now be backed at a price a shade under evens.

The Scot has cemented his second placed favouritsm in the betting at 8/5, and with Federer and Nadal already out of the tournament the path is now set for Murray to once again reach a Wimbledon Final.

His case has of course been helped not only by top seeds falling but by a spate of injuries, most notably Nadal’s tormenter Darcis, who has subsequently withdrawn, while backers of the big guns Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Maran Cilic will be disappointed to learn that these big servers have also succumbed to injury.

In the womens half of the draw, 2004 Wimbledon winner Maria Sharapova has already left the tournament after losing to Michelle Larcher de Brito, the third seed falling in straight sets, while it looks to be business as usual for Serena Williams, who once again looks imperious as she looks ominously short in the betting to lift the Wimbledon trophy once more at a price of 3/10.

Its certain to be another few days of scintillating grass court action at SW19, don’t forget your strawberries and cream and take advantage of Paddy Power’s superb offer!
