Johan Cruyff Thinks Thiago Alcantara Should Leave Barcelona This Summer

The former Barcelona manager has advised Thiago to make a decision on his future based on the amount of first team football he will be playing.

Barcelona legend Johan Cruyff has said that he thinks midfielder Thiago Alcantara should leave the club this summer in search of a team that will give him first team football, Goal.com reports.

Thiago has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League Champions Manchester United and Cruyff thinks that the midfielder should leave the Nou Camp if Barca can’t guarantee him more first team football.

Reports have suggested that Barcelona will offer Thiago an improved contract in an attempt to ward of interest from Manchester United but the player is thought to be leaning towards a move to Old Trafford and Cruyff thinks it should come down to Barcelona’s plans for the midfielder.

“It all depends a bit on Barcelona’s plans. If there is little chance that he will get regular playing time, he should leave,” Cruyff told Marca.

“However, if Barca tell him that he will be a starter, he should stay put. It’s all quite simple really.

“Thiago has a lot of quality and he has plenty of time as he’s still young. Any decision he will take will prove to be a good one.”

The midfielder has attracted a lot interest from other clubs since he scored a hat trick in the final of the European under 21 Championships.

Also, the midfielders buy-out clause is currently at an attractive £15.3 million, meaning clubs can bid that amount and Barcelona must accept the bid.

However, his buy-out clause rises to £76.3 million on August 1st.
