Man United full-back Patrice Evra is ready to quit the Old Trafford side following David Moyes’s bid to sign direct competitor Leighton Baines and the French veteran looks set to re-join big spending Ligue 1 side AS Monaco according to The Sun.
Evra joined Man United from Monaco in January 2006 in a £5.5m move and has been the club’s undisputed first choice left-back ever since, racking up 334 appearances for Man United and helping the club to five Premier League triumphs and collecting a Champions League winners medal among a host of other honours.
The French international may feel that now is the right time to consider his options and Monaco’s return to Ligue 1 coupled with the massive spending spree Claudio Ranieri’s side have enjoyed this summer could well lead Evra to accepting a move back to the Stade Louis II stadium side.
This source believes the Man United man is ready to make a £6m return to Monaco and that may be a fee the Premier League side is ready to accept ahead of a probable second bid for Everton defender Baines, having seen their opening offer of £12m turned down flat by the Goodison Park side.
