The midfielder has been linked with an £18 million move to Old Trafford.
PSV midfielder Kevin Strootman will decide whether or not to move to Manchester United when he returns from his summer break, Sports Direct News reports.
United’s scouts were impressed with Strootman during the Netherlands European under 21 Championship campaign and are set to offer PSV Eindhoven £18 million for the highly rated striker.
Strootman has been a target for Manchester United for the past year and the Red Devils were close to signing the midfielder last summer before manager Sir Alex Ferguson decided to wait another year before signing Strootman.
It now appears that Ferguson’s replacement, David Moyes is just as interested in Strootman and will the see the Dutchman as the man to strengthen his midfield this summer.
The Dutchman could line-up alongside Thiago Alcantara next season if United are successful in signing the Spaniard from Barcelona.
Thiago looked set to make a £15 million move to Manchester United but maybe having second thoughts as Barcelona try to persuade him to stay at the club for at least one more season.
United are now hoping that they will at least sign Strootman, with PSV already resigned to losing the Dutchman as they signed what could be his replacement in the form of Adam Maher from AZ Alkmaar.
