Nani could be set for a move to Russia this summer with Anzhi Makhachkala showing a strong interest according to The Mirror.

The Portuguese winger looks certain to leave United this summer after falling of favour at Old Trafford.

He endured a difficult season last year with former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson preferring to play a formation narrower in the midfield.

With just twelve months remaining on his contract it looks almost certain that both player and club will seek to find him a fresh challenge.

Last summer, Nani had requested an extension to his current deal, but that proposal was turned down by United on account of the midfielder’s wage demands.

That will be no problem for wealthy Anzhi Makhachkala who are ready to make a £12 million offer for the player.

It is understood that Anzhi’s chances of signing Nani have been greatly increased following the arrival of Rene Muelensteen at the club.

Muelensteen left United this summer to allow new manager David Moyes to bring in his own team of backroom staff and that prompted the Dutch coach to join up with his compatriot Guus Hiddink at Anzhi.

Roma and Galatasaray are also thought to be monitoring the situation.
