PSG to Make Formal Bid for Newcastle United Midfielder Yohan Cabaye

Parc des Princes side ready to make move for St James’ Park star.

PSG are ready to launch a formal bid for Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye according to the Sunderland Echo.

Magpies boss Alan Pardew has publicly spoken of the very real interest from the Ligue 1 big spenders in the St James’ Park star but has warned newly appointed Parc des Princes manager Laurent Blanc that PSG would have to submit a huge bid to stand any chance of signing the former Lille man this summer.

The 27 year old French international enjoyed an outstanding first season in the North-East, combining well with defensive midfielder Chieck Tiote to help Newcastle United secure a surprise fifth place finish but Cabaye didn’t manage to hit the same heights in 2012/13 and could now be tempted by the chance of a move to a side of PSG’s stature, not least because such a move would offer the chance to shine in the Champions League.

Such a move would cement Cabaye’s place in the French national team set-up and would presumably come with a massive financial reward to boot.
