Stamford Bridge side keen on Allianz Arena midfielder.
Chelsea have set their sights on Bayern Munich midfielder Luis Gustavo as a replacement for likely exit bound battler John Obi Mikel according to talkSPORT.
Jose Mourinho appears ready to offload Nigerian international Mikel, who has been strongly linked with a move to Turkey and the returning Blues boss has targeted Brazilian Gustavo who has been something of a bit part player at the Allianz Arena.
This source claims that Chelsea are confident of signing the £16m rated 25 year old who was part of the Brazil squad that won the Confederations Cup earlier this summer.
The former Hoffenheim man started just 16 of Bayern Munich’s 34 Bundesliga fixtures last term, seeing Javi Martinez get the nod in Jupp Heyneckes’ starting eleven and the Spaniard is likely to be Pep Guardiola’s first choice defensive midfield option in the coming season.
Mourinho has also loaned out Oriol Romeu to Valencia which would leave the West London side in even more of a need to bring in a tough tackling presence in the centre of the park if Mikel were indeed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
