Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has ruled out spending a second season on loan away from Stamford Bridge, Sky Sports reports.

The 20-year-old is now back at Chelsea after spending last season with West Bromwich Albion where he bagged an impressive 17 goals in 35 appearances and he has now revealed that he has held talks with returnee Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho over his plans for the forthcoming campaign and hopes to establish himself as a regular in the starting line up.

“Yeah we spoke and I want to keep it private because when you have confidential talks with the manager, it has to stay between you and him, we had a good talk and now it’s up to me,” he told Sky Sports News.

And asked whether he would consider another loan move away, with West Ham United now reported to be interested in taking him on a short term deal, he replied;

“No, not at the moment.

“You never know in football but my mind is in Chelsea now and I have come back to do well in pre-season and if I do a good pre-season, I think I will have a place in the squad and hopefully in the starting 11.

“Last year I had a great season at West Brom and I think have the qualities to do it here, but it is up to me.

“If I don’t do well here, then loan again.”

Lukaku is hoping to be a regular fixture next season as he eyes a starting birth in next year’s Belgian World Cup squad. He is currently in direct competition alongside Aston Villa’s wantaway star Christian Benteke, who Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in.
