Newly appointed Manchester United boss David Moyes is eyeing a potential reunion with Everton’s midfield ace Marouane Fellaini, if they cannot strike a deal with Barcelona for their Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas according to the Guardian.

The former Arsenal star, Fabregas, has been a big hit since his return to his boyhood club but he has not ruled out a move back to the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester United both being interested in the 26 year-old.

Moyes is very confident that he will land the Spanish international after tabling a £26million bid yesterday, which is reported as below Barca’s valuation of the player. Although, it appeared he was confident in the arrival of Thiago, who opted to snub United’s interested in order to reunite with Pep Guardiola at European champions Bayern Munich.

Various news outlets claim the Red Devils boss has been given adequate funds to purchase two star midfielders this summer, but it appears Real Madrid flop Luka Modric appears to be his second choice. The Croatian play maker should cost the Premier League champions around £25million, substantially less than they tried to buy him for prior to his move to Spain.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has already talked up the likelihood of his Belgian sensation staying at Goodison Park this summer, after telling reporters:

“He’s still a very young man but I am really looking forward to seeing Marouane working hard and making sure that he sets really good standards.”

“Marouane is an international footballer and he’s going to be involved, if all goes well, in a World Cup next year.”
