Serie A giants hope to beat English sides to talented midfielder.
Italian side AC Milan are hoping to get the jump on their English counterparts in the race for the signature of Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, according to talkSPORT.
The 20-year-old has earned rave reviews during his debut season with the Andalusian side and has already been tipped to join either Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City in the near future as he has become one of Europe’s most talked about midfielders.
He had originally come through the ranks of French side Lens, but had linked up with the Spanish club in a deal worth around €3 million, however, with the club’s spiralling debts and heavy interest from bigger sides, he now seems set for a short future there.
Alongside the interest from England he has also caught the eye of Real Madrid, who also want to keep him in Spain, but there is now fresh competition all round as Milan hope to hammer out a deal to take him to the San Siro.
But Massimo Allegri’s side will only make a formal bid if they can reach the first round proper of the Champions League next month after only managing to reach the qualifying rounds of the competition.
