Young forward looking to make an impression with new club.
New Manchester United forward Wilfred Zaha is looking to make an immediate impact at the club this season and play as many games as possible, the Daily Mail reports.
The 20-year-old grabbed the equaliser in 2-2 draw with Japanese side Cerezo Osaka at the weekend and the £15 million man rejected suggestions he may return to former club Crystal Palace for a second stint on loan.
The United squad arrived in Hong Kong on Monday morning as they continue their pre season preparations, and Zaha, who was a key figure in helping Palace achieve promotion to the Premier League last term is hoping to be involved with proceedings at Old Trafford as much as possible.
“My own target for my first season in Manchester is to be able to get minutes,” he said.
“I don’t want to go out on loan or anything. I just want to play when I get the chance.”
Zaha will soon be competing against the likes of Ashley Young, Nani and Antonio Valencia for a starting spot at the club this season, and insists that he is more than ready for the challenge.
“That is the gamble I had to take,” he added. “I am prepared to take that gamble.
“I enjoyed my time at Palace but I am at Manchester United now.
“There are bigger players than me here, so getting minutes will just do me fine.”
