Premier League coach steps up in JDT reshufle 

Johor have followed on from the Liverpool teams of the 1960’s and 70’s by announcing the man to replace Fandi Ahmad as Johor’s Super League manager will come from within.

Azmi Mohamed, the Current Premier League side coach, has just two years of management experience and will take charge temporarily until the new Spanish coach arrives in mid August.

Speaking to Asia One Sports he said: ” I have been instructed to handle the team (JDT) for the Malaysia Cup. The new Spanish coach will arrive in the middle of next month to look at the team and watch some of the Malaysia Cup matches”

The Malaysia cup kicks off in just over three weeks time, JDT have been drawn in Group B with Felda United PKNS FC, T-Team While Johor who will be managed by Edres Selamat ( Mohamed’s former assistant ) face Sime Darby FC, Selangor and Armed Forces.

The Southern Tigers are set to Appoint Cesar Ferrando Jimenez, the Former Atheletico Madrid and Valencia Coach as their new Manager.

In an official statement, the Johor Crown Prince, Tunku Ismail Idris said: “We have decided to appoint a new Spanish Head Coach, who is very experienced in the game.

“He has coached teams like Valencia and Atletico Madrid before.”
