Arsenal flop Gervinho is set to complete his ‘dream’ move to Serie A side Roma, after the clubs agreed a £7million fee according to the Daily Mail.

Since his £10million arrival from Lille back in 2010, the Ivorian forward has failed to impress – only managing four goals during his 28 game debut season. Due to the poor form of some of Arsene Wenger’s squad players, the long term serving Arsenal manager is now looking to revitalise his forward options by loaning out Chamakh; selling Gervinho and making Bendtner available for transfer – leaving them with just Walcott, Podolski and Giroud. The Gunners are also still looking to bring in Liverpool striker Luis Suarez to add further depth after missing out on Argentinian international Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli.

26 year-old, Gervinho, told Italian reporters Gazzetta dello Sport, “I am happy to be here, it was my dream,” ahead of his medical with the Italian side. It is thought the main factor that persuaded the Ivory Coast international to move to the Italian capital was linking up with former boss Rudi Garcia – who managed him back at Lille when they won the Ligue 1 title.

Wenger has spoken to British media outlets about the future of his front players, “Gervinho, we are at the moment close to an agreement with a club where he should go.”

“Chamakh might go somewhere [expected to be Premier League newcomers Crystal Palace], it will be decided in the next 48 hours.”

Whilst Bendtner news has gone quiet in recent weeks after clubs refused to follow up their interest in the Danish forward due to his excessive demands.
