Magpies Director of Football expects deal to be complete in next 48 hours.
Newcastle Director of Football Joe Kinnear has revealed that he expects the club to complete the signing of QPR striker Loic Remy within the next 48 hours according to The Metro.
Kinnear has been keen to bring in new striker to St. James’ Park since arriving last month and has announced his belief that a deal for Remy is close to completion.
It is expected that Remy will be signing on a season-long loan deal with a view to a permanent move should the spell be successful.
Remy been at QPR for less than eight months, having arrived at Loftus Road from Marseille during the January transfer window.
The striker impressed with his performances but question remarks remain over his fitness and commitment.
Remy has made no secret of his desire to leave QPR following the club’s relegation from the Premier League but a move looked unlikely after no clubs came in for him.
Newcastle are less optimistic about their chances of signing Aston Villa’s Darren Bent. The Magpies continue to be in talks for the Villa striker but believe they could be beaten to his signature by Fulham.
But the club remain hopeful of signing Bent after reports emerged that Fulham were baulking at Villa’s £6 million asking price.
