Bafetimbi Gomis has begun tweeting in English, sparking mass excitement among Newcastle fans as they can witness the second senior signing of the summer upon the horizon, with deal for Loic Remy being wrapped up yesterday.

Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas has been very vocal throughout the whole deal, expressing every nook and cranny of the deal, but his latest quotes are promising signs for the Magpie’s fans.

“With one year left on his contract he has to be sold because an extension was not an option for us or him,” Aulas openly told French news outlet L’Equipe.

“I did not mean to cause any harm to Gomis on a personal level. I merely needed to sell him. We have accepted Newcastle’s conditions and Gomis has accepted theirs too. It could still go haywire. There are minor issues which could cause problems. Either way, the deal won’t be done for another eight days probably.”

It was believed that the player’s agent was the main problem with the deal so far, but today the 28 year-old has been teasing Geordies on twitter with his latest antics.

One fan asked the French international “Already learning English;) Ready for #NUFC ??” to which Gomis replied with : ” yeah i started a little bit but not fluent in Jordy [Geordie] yet ;-)”

This sparked uproar as the Newcastle fans expect to see another Frenchman sign soon, especially after the torrid summer they have had without a signing until yesterday – and even he [Remy] was fairly controversial.
