Exclusive: Liverpool Draw Up £45m Trio Wish-List as Brendan Rodgers Prepares for Luis Suarez Exit

Anfield side ready moves to spend Luis Suarez cash.

Though publicly Liverpool insist Luis Suarez is not for sale privately they are ready to offload the Uruguayan for the right price, feeling that the 26 year old striker has burned to many bridges and his behaviour has become something of disruption at the club.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has been told that should a club offer a fee in the region of £50m then he will be handed the lion’s share of these funds to invest in further strengthening his squad and as such the Northern Irish manager has started the process of putting out the ‘feelers’ with exploratory talks on the cards.

Rodgers is keen to bring in a creative midfielder who can ably link midfield and attack whilst also offering a fresh goal threat and with this in mind he has set his sights on Ajax playmaker Christian Eriksen, who is of course a long term Liverpool target.

Brendan Rodgers attempted to fill this slot by targeting Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the Shakhtar Donestk man opted to join Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, similarly young Brazilian Bernard was also briefly on the Anfield radar before he was brought in to replace the Armenian at the Donbass Arena.

Eriksen has helped Ajax to three successive Eredivisie titles and feels he has achieved as much as he can at the Amsterdam club, and whilst the Danish international can indeed enjoy Champions League football he is looking for a fresh challenge and Rodgers will hope to convince the 21 year old of the long term merits of joining a Liverpool side that are responsibly building for the future.

Christian Eriksen has scored 29 goals over the course of the last three seasons and chips in with more than his fair share of assists to boot.

Rodgers is also hoping to lure Eriksen’s Ajax team-mate Toby Alderweireld this summer, the adaptable defender is seen by the Liverpool manager as the ideal defensive addition to help boost his options at the back. The Belgian international has a solid basis of experience at the highest level with over 200 appearances for club and country and the fact that the one club man can effectively fill both centre-back and right-back berths is an added bonus.

Everton and Southampton have both been linked with interest in the 24 year old but Rodgers is confident he can tempt the intelligent defender to Anfield and is ready to offer the Eredivisie giants £30m for the pair.

As well as looking to boost his midfield creativity and his defence Roders is mindful that the sale of Luis Suarez will clearly leave him short of effective striking options and will look to make an offer for Swansea City striker Michu if he sees Suarez leave this summer.

The 27 year old Spaniard had an excellent first season in the English top tier, scoring 22 goals in all competitions, and at just £1.6m the former Rayo Vallecano and Oviedo attacker was certainly the bargain buy of last season.

Rodgers is ready to offer as much as £15m for the cultured striker, who he feels would fit in well with the footballing approach his Liverpool side have adopted, an offer that Liberty Stadium chairman Huw Jenkins may struggle to turn down, especially as his South Wales side have spent heavily on new additions this summer, including a club record £12m outlay on Ivory Coast forward Wilfried Bony.

Michu himself may also feel that a high profile move to Liverpool could help raise his profile, in turn giving him a better chance of a first senior Spanish national team cap, and perhaps even an outside shot of a place in Vicente del Bosque’s World Cup Finals squad?
