SAM appalled at favouritism shown to foreign Media
The Sportswriters Association of Malaysia has appealed to the FAM after the treatment of home Media at the Malaysia vs Barcelona exhibition game.
Media seats close to the pitch were reserved for Foreign Press only, after the game local journalists were banned from interviewing players.
There were also rumours of violence,with one security guard alleged to have threatened to slam a walkie-talkie into a reporters head.
Speaking to the Malaysian News Agency Bernama, as quoted by Goal Malaysia President of SAM, Ahmad Khawari Mohd Isa said: “I am disappointed that the organizers failed to provide facilities and safety for the local media while covering the game, especially when the match is involving foreign teams.”
