Man United Opt for Youth as David Moyes Targets Trio Of Europe’s Most Promising Talents

Old Trafford side opt for youthful additions over continued pursuit of established ‘Marquee’ signings.

Man United boss David Moyes is ready to give up in his efforts to bring in Cesc Fabregas, having already failed with two bids for the Barcelona midfielder, and has instead set his sights on a trio of youthful talents he feels are more in keeping with his long term plans as Old Trafford boss.

CaughtOffside understands that following lengthy talks with the Man United board Moyes will forgo moves for ‘Marquee’ captures, with long running interest in Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo being seen as unlikely and prohibitively expensive, and the former Everton boss has instead received the backing to make significant offers for three of Europe’s most exciting talents.

Moyes will look to French Under 20 international Geoffrey Kondogbia to offer some much needed steel to the centre of his first team set-up, looking to the French youngster to resolve Man United’s lack of any effective out and out defensive midfield options.

Man United are ready to meet the Sevilla’s £19m valuation with the La Liga side seemingly happy to sell a number of their top talents with the likes of Jesus Navas, Roberto Soldado, Luis Alberto and Gary Medel having all already left the Andalusian side for Man City, Tottenham, Liverpool and Cardiff City respectively.

Kondogbia impressed in action in the Spanish top tier last term and then helped his side to win the French Under 20 World-Cup in Turkey.

David Moyes will look to lure Schalke’s highly rated teenage midfielder Julian Draxler to further strengthen a very brittle Man United central midfield complement and the Premier League title holders are willing to offer as much as £22m for the German international.

The 19 year old has already amassed over 100 appearances for Schalke and has half a dozen national team caps to his name and is very much considered one of the hottest prospects in European football.

Man United will look to Draxler to act as a long term replacement for retired legend Paul Scholes, the Schalke midfielder seemingly has the potential to make an instant impact in the Old Trafford first team and has the adaptability to provide strength as well as the forward momentum to make an impact going forward.

The rangy midfielder netted 13 goals in all competitions last term and is seen by Moyes as perhaps a better option than his former Everton charge Marouane Fellaini, who has been consistently linked with a move to join his former boss as Man United.

With efforts to land another Everton star, Leighton Baines, also hitting the buffers Moyes has set his sights on PSV Eindhoven youngster Jetro Willems as a potential back-up for Patrice Evra.

David Moyes scouted the Dutch international extensively when Toffees boss and is now keen to tempt the 19 year old Dutch international into making the move to Old Trafford.

The 19 year old is already into his fourth Eredivisie campaign and would almost certainly have his head turned by a possible move to the Premier League, even more so having seen his team-mates Dries Mertens, Kevin Strootman and Jeremain Lens leave for Napoli, Roma and Dynamo Kiev this summer.

The attack minded left-back has a bright future and Man United are thought to be ready to offer around £8m for his services.
