QPR Set to Complete £3.5m Deal to Sign Tottenham Veteran Scott Parker

Harry Redknapp set for reunion with former player.

Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker looks close to an exit from White Hart Lane to link up with former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp at Championship side Queens Park Rangers, according to the London Evening Standard.

The move would see Parker represent his seventh club in England, having already played for Charlton, Norwich, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham and Spurs, and he is willing to take the step down to Championship football after becoming something of a backup player at White Hart Lane.

Parker was a key player under Redknapp during his management at Tottenham, but current boss Andre Villas-Boas may be willing to let him leave this summer.

QPR are keen to strengthen their squad as they look to bounce back after last season’s relegation from the Premier League, and have already had to deal with the exits of several key players.

However, they look set to miss out on another Spurs player in Jermain Defoe, with Villas-Boas ruling out the possibility of selling the England striker. He also suggested that midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson will be given another chance after a slightly disappointing first season at the club.
