West Ham Ponder Audacious Move for Highly Rated Dutch Defender

Hammers are keen on utility player and could land Dutchman before the window shuts next month.

West Ham United are weighing up making a move for Feyenoord defender Bruno Martins Indi this summer, according to reports in the Sun.

The Hammers have reportedly been keeping close tabs on the Netherlands international for some time now, and even sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action for his club in their Eredivisie clash with Zwolle last weekend.

And West Ham head coach Sam Allardyce must have been impressed with the reports that came back to him, as he then also sent his scouting team to Faro on Wednesday night to check out the centre back in his county’s friendly international against Portugal which ended in a 1-1 draw.

The West Ham boss must now decide whether or not to make a move for Martins Indi, with time running out for the east London outfit to bring the utility player, who can also operate at left back, to Upton Park as the summer window shuts for business for the year on Sept 2.

However, the other problem facing Allardyce and Co is being able to persuade the Eredivisie giants to part company with their star defender, who has been at the De Kuip his whole career to date, making 78 appearances in total since 2010.
