Tottenham Boss Andre Villas-Boas Reveals He Rejected Two Jobs Offers This Summer

The 35 year old insists that he has plenty of reasons to stay at White Hart Lane and is looking forward two his second season with Spurs.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that he rejected two job offers this summer in order to stay with Spurs, Goal.com reports.

The Portuguese coach had been the subject of reported interest from Real Madrid and Paris St Germain but AVB, who is yet to complete two successive seasons with the club, wanted to remain at Spurs and insists that that their are plenty of reasons for remaining at White Hart Lane.

“I have great respect for the club and for Daniel [Levy] and these are the reasons the couple of clubs that came knocking I told them that I wasn’t interested,” the Spurs boss told reporters.

“[It is] my first opportunity to start a second year in the same club. I think that can give me an advantage and is something I want to try.

AVB guided Spurs to a fifth place finish in his first season at White Hart Lane and was close to beating Arsenal to fourth place, only for the Gunners to pip them on the final day of the season.

Spurs have been busy in the transfer market this summer in order to give themselves the best chance of claiming a top four place in the Premier League table and with it Champions League qualification.

Striker Roberto Soldado arrived from Valencia earlier in the summer for a club record £25 million, while Spurs have also been linked with Roma winger Erik Lamela.
