Roma Target Man United Winger Nani as Potential Replacement for Much Wanted Argentine Erik Lamela

Stadio Olimpico side keen on Old Trafford wide-man.

AS Roma are targeting Manchester United winger Nani, should they end up selling Erik Lamela to Tottenham this summer, according to Goal.com.

The North London club are preparing a bid to sign Roma’s talented Argentine winger Erik Lamela this summer, and hope to replace him with Manchester United winger Nani. The Portuguese international has only a year to run on his current contract, with talks to renew his deal at Old Trafford yet to begin.

Sportmediaset claim that Roma are hoping to signing Nani for a bargain price of £6.9million this summer, should they sell the 21-year old to Tottenham. Lamela has been impressive since his move from River Plate, and it’s understood that Andre Villas-Boas will have to stump up in excess of £30million to sign Lamela this summer.

Nani is available this summer for the right price, with the 26-year old falling out of favour with manager David Moyes, and is behind Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Wilfried Zaha in the United pecking order, and a number of clubs, including AS Monaco and Anzhi Mackachkala have been linked with a move to sign him this summer. Their interest in Nani relies upon Tottenham’s pursuit of Lamela, as they plan on funding a move for Nani with the cash from his transfer.

Tottenham are also interested in Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo, but according to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian side are planning a swap offer from Atletico Madrid, in exchange for Spanish forward Adrian.
