Gunners chasing three new players.
Arsene Wenger is set to make a last-ditch attempt to save Arsenal’s summer, with Goal.com reporting that the Frenchman has lined up three potential signings.
The Frenchman has missed out on several of his top targets already this summer, but is hoping to secure the services of Yohan Cabaye, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Atsuto Uchida.
Some sections of the media have already reported that a £10million offer to Newcastle for highly-rated playmaker Cabaye has been turned down, but Wenger has also enquired about Kondogbia and made a formal offer for Uchida.
Sevilla starlet Kondogbia has been one of many players to be linked with moves away from the club this summer, with the Manchester United and Chelsea target widely expected to follow the likes of Jesus Navas and Alvaro Negredo, now both of Manchester City, out of the club.
The 20-year-old has a minimum release fee clause of around £17.2million, and interested clubs have not yet been willing to match Sevilla’s demands for the player.
Uchida is first-choice right-back at Bundesliga side Schalke, and Arsenal have offered £6million for his services, as doubts remain over the long-term future at the Emirates Stadium of Bacary Sagna, who is also currently out injured.
Although Arsenal are not known for spending vast amounts of money, they have shown willingness this summer, even if they have as of yet succeeded in bringing anyone in.
