Spurs keen to keep spending following Willian snub.
Tottenham could make another raid on Valencia this summer as they set their sights on the signing of Argentine playmaker Ever Banega, according to Sports Direct News.
The 25-year-old seems to be next on Andre Villas-Boas’ list after the Spurs boss missed out on the signing of Willian to Chelsea, though he is said to also be targeting moves for Roma duo Erik Lamela and Miralem Pjanic.
Banega has been at Valencia since 2008, and provided his side with 4 goals and 4 assists from midfield last season. He also has 20 caps for Argentina and looks like a potentially useful addition to the Spurs squad.
The north London side have already signed Spanish international striker Roberto Soldado from Valencia this summer, and his signing looks to have been a big success at White Hart Lane, with the 28-year-old scoring 4 goals in his first 3 games for the club.
Spurs have recruited a number of big names this summer, as they expect to raise £86million or more from the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, though a deal has not yet been confirmed for the talented Welshman.
Banega would compete with other new signings Paulinho and Etienne Capoue in Spurs’ midfield.
