Turkish giants enter race for Madrid star.
Arsenal are now facing stiff competition from Turkish side Galatasaray for the signature of Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria, talkSPORT reports.
The Istanbul based outfit can already boast the likes of Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder within their ranks and believe they can put together a deal that would appeal to the Argentinian international.
Di Maria’s future in the Spanish capital has come into considerable doubt following the arrival of Malaga forward Isco earlier in the summer and with the club apparently just days away from landing Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale there may be very little room for him within the squad.
He had previously stated his desire to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and fight for his place, but if made to leave then it is believed that he would be open to a switch to the Premier League.
Madrid are willing to listen to offers, but with Arsenal appearing to be monitoring his situation closely, the Turks still believe that they can make an offer attractive enough to bring him on board and further add to Arsene Wenger’s transfer misery.
Di Maria has made 139 appearances, scoring 25 goals and creating 53 assists.
