Stamford Bridge side could see youngster snapped up by La Liga giants.
Chelsea are in danger of losing highly rated keeper Thibaut Courtois after attempts to tie the Belgian to a new contract run into difficulties according to Sports Direct News.
Courtois is into his third season on loan at Atletico Madrid, having impressed during his previous two spells, and is now all that keen on signing a new Chelsea contract and this has alerted La Liga giants Real Madrid.
The 21 year old custodian is concerned about his long term prospects at Stamford Bridge knowing that Petr Cech is a nailed on first choice starter and at 31 years of age the Czech Republic international still has a fair few seasons in the tank.
Courtois was signed by Chelsea in July 2011 but is still to play a single competitive fixture for the West London club and as such may well feel the need to consider his options and the chance to move from the Vicente Calderon to near neighbours down the road the Bernabeu may tempt the former Racing Genk keeper.
The 6ft 6in goalie has made 102 appearances for Atletico, helping them to both Europa League and Copa del Rey triumphs and could be seen by Carlo Ancelotti as a long term replacement for Iker Casillas, who has been frozen out of first team duties by the Italian.
