Old Trafford side keen on Italian international.
David Moyes is to launch a second bid for Italian international Daniele de Rossi having seen his initial offer for the 30 year old AS Roma midfielder turned down.
Sports Direct News claim that the Premier League title holders had a £10m bid turned down by the Stadio Olimpico side yesterday but will up their offer to £12m in the hope that the Serie A side are ready to consider offers for the one club man.
David Moyes appears keen to strengthen his midfield and may see the experienced campaigner as the ideal man to help add steel to his Man United squad, whilst also offering a very real goal threat to boot. In many ways the Roma man could be seen as a replacement for Paul Scholes, who retired for a second, and presumably final, time this summer.
De Rossi is into his 13th season in the AS Roma first team set-up, during which time he has seen his side secure no less than five Serie A runners-up finishes and with the Giallorossi finishing last season in sixth position, and therefore securing no European football for 2013/14, one would imagine there is a chance the midfielder could be tempted into leaving his hometown club for Old Trafford.
New boss Rudi Garcia has brought in a number of new faces this summer and the arrival of Kevin Strootman from PSV Eindhoven would appear to be with a view to the Dutch international being a long term successor to De Rossi.
