Tottenham have renewed their interest in Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao as their summer spending spree looks set to continue, Goal.com reports.

Spurs have so far spent over £100 million on new players this summer, including Erik Lamela, Vlad Chirches and Christen Eriksen, who all arrived on Friday.

Despite their colossal spending, Spurs look set to continue buying players and they now have their eyes on Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao, who was linked with a move to White Hart Lane earlier in the summer.

Coentrao had looked set to be a make weight in Real Madrid’s move for Gareth Bale but Tottenham just want a transfer fee for the Welshman and are eager to sign Coentrao as a separate deal.

The Portuguese left back hasn’t featured in any of Madrid’s league matches so far this season and wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu before the transfer window closes.

Coentrao wants to move to a club that will give him first team football and is known to be interested in a move to Tottenham.

Despite not being able to agree a deal for Coentrao yet, Spurs are confident that they can complete the transfer of the defender before Monday’s deadline.
