Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny returns to the squad after serving a one match ban for the two yellow cards he received in the opening day defeat to Aston Villa, and the head injury he sustained against Fenerbahce a few days later is not thought to be serious enough to cause him any problems.
Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are both fit again despite picking up minor knocks during their Champions League encounter during the week, but Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta are all sidelined and expected to be long term absentees. New boy Mathieu Flamini could also feature.
Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon is doubtful with a foot injury, whilst Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoit Assou-Ekotto will not feature in the squad as they lack match fitness.
They will also be without new signing Vlad Chiriches, but fellow new boy Erik Lamela is reported to be available to be included in the squad, but whether of not Andre Villas-Boas will include him remains to be seen.
Fans can expect a high scoring affair as the previous six meetings have produced a total of 31 goals – including 5-2 wins for Arsenal in the previous two matches at the Emirates.
