Everton are thought to be closing in on the signing of Feyenoord full back Bruno Martins Indi, talkSPORT reports.

Reports in the Netherlands, Everton boss Roberto Martinez is covering his own back by lining the player up as question marks are still hanging over the future of Leighton Baines, who is expected to be the subject of a last ditch offer from Manchester United after they have been linked with a move for him all summer.

The 21-year-old made his debut for the Dutch giants in 2010 and has spent his entire career there, making 78 appearances, scoring three goals.

He is comfortable playing as either a centre back or as a full back, and though born in Portugal he has collected 10 caps for the Dutch national side, and has scored twice in the process too. He was also a part of his country’s under-21 side that competed in the European Championships in Israel earlier in the summer. He made three appearances as the side made it to the semi finals of the competition.

No fee has been mentioned yet, but he only put pen-to-paper on a new four year deal in 2012, but it is believed that the Dutch side are looking for a fee in the region of £4 million.
