Valencia starlet attracting attention from European giants.
Manchester City and Barcelona are both said to be leading the chase for highly-rated Valencia starlet Carles Gil, who has been compared with David Silva, according to Super Deporte.
The 20-year-old has been impressing in a loan spell with Spanish side Elche, whom he helped win promotion to La Liga last season, and he has continued to gain first-team experience with them this term.
A stylish attacking midfield playmaker, his performances have seen him compared with influential City star Silva, who also started his career with Valencia as a youngster, and manager Manuel Pellegrini seems keen to bring the young understudy to the Etihad Stadium as well.
However, Barcelona’s great reputation for nurturing young talent at the Nou Camp may give them the edge over City, who are more well known in recent years for spending vast amounts of money on established stars, making it difficult for untested youth players to break into the starting lineup at the club.
Valencia won’t want to part company with another of their best talents though, having also lost big names the likes of Juan Mata and Roberto Soldado to Chelsea and Tottenham, respectively in recent years.
