City could poach teenage midfield prospect from rivals.
Manchester City are being linked with a surprise move for talented Manchester United youngster Adnan Januzaj, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The 18-year-old winger is rated as one of the best prospects at Old Trafford at the moment, and made his Premier League debut in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, though his future at the club remains up in the air as his current contract is set to expire in a year’s time.
City may look to pounce on this situation as they remain fans of the Belgian, and will hope to adapt their transfer policy somewhat to pursue youth more in the wake of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
United will be hoping not to lose another top young talent due to a lack of playing time on offer at the club, as they did most recently with French midfielder Paul Pogba, who has gone on to emerge as a top talent since signing for Serie A giants Juventus.
Januzaj seems like a player of similarly high potential, but is currently behind some big names in Ashley Young, Nani and Antonio Valencia on the flanks at United.
