Stamford Bridge side keen on Icelandic international.
Chelsea boss has reportedly joined the race to sign in form Ajax striker Kolbeinn Sigthorsson according to Sports Direct News.
Jose Mourinho has seen his side struggle for goals this term and may feel that the Icelandic international could offer his squad a fresh dimension up front.
The 23 year old is into his third season at the Amsterdam Arena and has already netted four goals in all competitions this term and would presumably jump at the chance of a move to Stamford Bridge and clearly the Eredivisie side have struggled to keep hold of their top talents of late.
Ajax boss Frank de Boer lost the services of a number of stars over the summer with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Derk Boerrigter move to Tottenham, Atletico Madrid and Celtic respectively.
Mourinho’s side have managed just four goals in four games thus far this season and none of those goals have come from recognised strikers with Fernando Torres continuing to struggle up front whilst Demba Ba has been handed just one top tier start thus far this season.
Kolbeinn Sigthorsson has scored 20 goals in 43 appearances for Ajax since moving to the Dutch giants from AZ Alkmaar back in July 2011.
