Old Trafford boss David Moyes plans another Goodison Park raid.
Man United are set to battle Chelsea in pursuit of Everton youngster Ross Barkley according to Sports Direct News.
David Moyes appears to be planning another Goodison Park raid having snapped up his former Toffees charge Marouane Fellaini on transfer deadline day earlier this month.
Sir Alex Ferguson is thought to have made an offer for the England international when he first burst onto the scene at as a 17 year old at the Merseyside club and Moyes is keen to re-ignite Man United’s interest in the midfielder.
Everton are looking to secure as much as £20m for the 19 year old, who won his first senior national team cap against Moldova in recent weeks, and that may be a fee that Man United are willing to cough up to land the highly rated teenager in January.
Barkley clearly has the backing of new boss Roberto Martinez who has handed the talented performer starts in all four of Everton’s Premier League fixtures thus far this term.
Moyes may feel his side could do with fresh midfield options, even after the acquisition of Fellaini, and there is no denying the potential Barkley possesses though Everton may well fight tooth and nail to prevent another of their talents being poached by the Premier League title holders.
