Hull City Striker Nick Proschwitz Wants To Stay And Fight For His Place

German striker wants to fight back from being an outcast.

Hull City striker Nick Proschwitz has claimed that he rejected the opportunity of a move away this summer in order to stay and fight for his place under Steve Bruce, Sky Sports reports.

Proschwitz cost Hull £2.6m when he signed on from German side SC Paderborn last year, but has found himself slipping down the pecking order at the KC Stadium this season following the summer arrivals of Yannick Sagbo and Danny Graham.

However, he took a rare chance to make an impression this week when he netted the winning goal for the Tigers in their Capital One Cup clash earlier this week and has insisted that he is not giving up hope on establishing himself within the first team there.

“I don’t care now at what’s gone, I’m just looking at the future,” Proschwitz said. “I decided to stay and fight for my opportunity and I hope my chance will come to play soon. Hopefully I can score then too.

“I came here to play in the Premier League. The first month of the season wasn’t easy for me but I don’t want to quit and I don’t want to give up.

“First-team football is where I want to be and I believe I performed quite well.

“It hasn’t been easy but I decided to stay and work for my chance. Hopefully that will come soon.

“I’ve had a few games for the reserves, a few very good performances with loads of goals, and I’m happy that I could help the team.”
