City star back to his best, says international team-mate.
Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery has heaped praise on Manchester City’s Samir Nasri ahead of their sides meeting in the Champions League this week, the Daily Mirror reports.
Nasri has shown some good form at the start of the season after his future at City had come into doubt, following two under-par seasons at the Etihad Stadium since making the big-money move from Arsenal.
Ribery himself has been a top player for this exceptional all-conquering Bayern Munich side, and is pleased to see his friend and international team-mate back to his best again, and has hinted that much of it could be down to the change of management at City over the summer.
Nasri’s form suffered under previous boss Roberto Mancini, who had reportedly become unpopular with a number of the players at City towards the end of his tenure, and the Italian was sacked in May before being replaced by Manuel Pellegrini.
The arrival of the Chilean looks to have breathed new life into Nasri, whom Ribery says is now showing the kind of form that made him look like one of the best players in Europe during his time at Arsenal.
“Sami is like a different person,” said the French winger. “He’s like a brother to me – he told me he got down when not playing under the old coach.
“We are now seeing the Samir we saw at Arsenal – one of the most gifted players in Europe.”
