Suarez wants Champions League chance.
Liverpool star Luis Suarez is reportedly ready to leave the club this summer if they miss out on qualification for the Champions League, according to an exclusive report in the Daily Star.
The Uruguayan looks set to make his Premier League return in this afternoon’s game against Sunderland, having finally seen out a ten-match suspension for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic towards the end of last season.
However, Suarez had also been embroiled in a transfer saga for much of the summer after making his desire to leave Liverpool clear, with interest coming from the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal.
The 26-year-old is likely to be a target for Real again, as they seek to sign the talented forward as a replacement for Karim Benzema, and their chances will be strengthened if Liverpool don’t manage to reach their target of a top four place this season.
The Reds have made a good start to the season, though they endured a shock home defeat to Southampton last weekend, and Suarez is still said to be considering his future at Anfield.
Rated as one of the best players in the world, Suarez supposedly feels entitled to join a club that has a genuine chance of winning the Champions League, let alone just competing in it.
